The role

As Site Scheduling & Planning Manager, you will lead a team of four and take overall responsibility for production planning, scheduling and material availability across the Bridgwater site. Working closely with the Central Supply Team and key site stakeholders, you will ensure production is aligned with customer demand, operational capacity and inventory requirements. The role plays a key part in managing supply risks, supporting the S&OP process, and driving effective collaboration across Manufacturing, Warehousing, Supply Chain and NPD to deliver excellent customer service and operational performance.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • Lead the Scheduling & Planning team, developing production schedules that balance customer demand, operational capacity, material availability and inventory requirements.
  • Manage finished goods inventory, raw materials and packaging availability to ensure efficient production and excellent customer service levels.
  • Drive waste reduction and planning efficiency through effective scheduling, forecasting improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate site downtime planning, new product launches and product changes, ensuring risks and impacts are effectively managed and communicated.
  • Proactively identify and escalate supply and service risks while working closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Warehousing, NPD and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Scheduling & Planning team while promoting a strong culture of health, safety, food safety and environmental compliance.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Planning or Scheduling Manager role within a manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG, with strong production planning, inventory management and ERP/SAP knowledge. You will be an organised and proactive people leader with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to build effective relationships across multiple teams. A positive, hands-on approach and a passion for driving operational efficiency and service excellence are essential.
