Building Fabric Technician
Location: Imperial College London
Working Hours: Mon – Fri 8am - 5pm
About The Role
Dalkia are seeking an experienced and motivated Building Fabric Technician to join our team supporting the Imperial College London contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide range of reactive building fabric maintenance tasks, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This is a varied and hands-on role requiring a multi-skilled individual with experience in commercial building maintenance. Safety is a key priority, and candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building repairs and maintenance across the site.
- Attend and complete reactive maintenance call-outs within agreed timescales.
- Replace and repair locks, door closers, hinges, and other door furniture.
- Undertake basic plumbing works, drainage repairs, and minor leak rectification.
- Complete minor painting, decorating, and making-good works.
- Install and replace carpet tiles.
- Carry out tiling and paving repairs.
- Apply relevant trade skills to maintain building fabric to a high standard.
- Perform emergency lighting testing as required.
- Use PDA devices to receive, update, and close work orders.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including POWRA requirements and access restrictions within laboratory environments.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked store area.
- Support colleagues and management with additional tasks and projects as required.
- Ensure all works are completed professionally with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working within large commercial buildings, healthcare environments, or similar facilities.
- A proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
- Strong multi-skilled building fabric experience.
- Knowledge of building fabric materials, hand tools, doors, windows, locks, and associated hardware.
- Confidence using electronic devices and PDA systems.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to use initiative.
- A full UK driving licence.
