SHIFT PATTERN: 3 Shift (6:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-6:00)

This Site Services Mechanical Engineer opportunity forms part of JLR's Solihull Maintenance Site Services team and is responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance and corrective repairs across a range of mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring operational reliability and plant availability.

What To Expect

  • Monitor plant, equipment and process performance, identifying opportunities and implementing improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Analyse quality and production data to identify trends and deliver targeted continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities while promoting best practice maintenance techniques and standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health and Safety procedures, documentation and PPE requirements.
  • Support the Total Product Maintenance (TPM) autonomous maintenance programme, helping to develop operator capability and equipment ownership.
  • Respond flexibly to business requirements, including shift changes, overtime and adjusted start times where required.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimise performance and reduce waste.
  • Support and coach Group Leaders to achieve departmental objectives, performance targets and operational goals.

What You'll Need

We're looking for a proactive, safety-focused and results-driven Site Services Mechanical Engineer with a passion for plant reliability, maintenance excellence and continuous improvement. Someone who has a hard working ethic, can be a trusted, loyal, professional individual or embraces challenges. Someone who is open-minded and enjoys engaging with others.

  • A Mechanical related Government Approved Apprenticeship, Craftsman Certificate, Level 3 BTec, NVQ, OCR Cambridge Nationals, OR a National Diploma.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of industrial plant and equipment (such as welding, reciprocating and screw compressors, site-wide speed doors, gearboxes, chains, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
  • Experience maintaining Heating and Ventilation Systems.
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and/or Total Equipment Management (TEM) principles.
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety standards, procedures and best practices.
  • Experience working with and maintaining mechanical plant within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
