Lead the Engineering Services That Keep Manufacturing Moving
Role Overview
As a Site Services Engineering Team Leader, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the critical utilities, infrastructure and engineering services that support our food manufacturing operation.
Leading a team of Site Services Engineers, you'll be responsible for maintaining essential plant and facilities, driving preventative maintenance activities and ensuring engineering issues are resolved quickly and effectively. You'll combine hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership skills to help maximise equipment availability, improve operational performance and maintain the high standards required within a food manufacturing environment.
Key Duties
Working a 4-on, 4-off days shift pattern, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional looking to take ownership of a key site function while developing their leadership career.
You will:
- Lead, coach and coordinate a team of Site Services Engineers to deliver safe and effective engineering support.
- Ensure site utilities, plant and facilities operate reliably to support manufacturing operations.
- Manage and drive preventative maintenance activities through the CMMS system.
- Allocate workloads and resources effectively, responding to changing priorities and operational requirements.
- Support the maintenance and performance of critical site services equipment, including utilities and infrastructure.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, efficiency and operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce utility costs.
- Ensure engineering activities are completed in line with Health & Safety, food safety and compliance requirements.
- Act as a key engineering contact across the site, building effective relationships with production and support teams.
- Support engineering performance reporting and contribute to departmental improvement plans.

Ideal Candidate
We're looking for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys leading teams, solving technical challenges and delivering high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will have:
- Previous experience leading or supervising an engineering team within a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical engineering qualifications, ideally including 18th Edition certification.
- Mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing preventative maintenance activities and engineering priorities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance multiple demands effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety and promoting safe working practices.
It would be advantageous if you also have:
- Experience working with industrial refrigeration systems.
- Experience supporting industrial boilers or related utility plant.
- IOSH qualification or a willingness to work towards this.
- Experience within food manufacturing or another highly regulated production environment.
