Site Supervisor

Here at the Mick George Group we are currently recruiting a Site Supervisor to join the Earthworks division.

Location

Mick George Contracting sites – which will vary across the country

Working Hours

  • Monday – Friday 6am -6pm
  • Saturdays as and when required 6am – 1pm

Dependent on experience.

Role Purpose

The Site Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of daily site operations, workforce management, and ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained. The role requires hands-on leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily earthworks and soil stabilisation activities, ensuring safe and efficient delivery
  • Ensure all work complies with RAMS, project specifications, site instructions, and legal requirements
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and resources to achieve programme and production targets
  • Allocate daily tasks using allocation sheets and monitor workforce attendance, performance, and site compliance
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, shift briefings, and safety communications
  • Complete and review timesheets, daily worksheets, GRNs, and site records accurately and on time
  • Maintain production logs, plant utilisation records, and support weekly progress reporting
  • Manage plant inspections, defect reporting, maintenance, and efficient equipment utilisation
  • Monitor quality standards, including compaction, moisture control, levels, tolerances, and material suitability
  • Support site testing activities and promptly report and escalate non-conformances
  • Enforce health, safety, environmental, and PPE requirements across all operations
  • Manage environmental controls, hazard reporting, and incident investigations
  • Verify material deliveries, monitor material usage, and minimise waste
  • Act as the key link between site operatives, subcontractors, engineers, and management teams
  • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, resource requirements, and operational issues
  • Assist with planning labour, plant, materials, and work sequencing to minimise delays and improve efficiency
  • Identify and address potential risks, including weather impacts, equipment breakdowns, and material shortages
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance
  • Complete any ad-hoc requests given by management

Skills & Qualifications Required

  • At least 1 years' experience in Earthworks/Plant site supervision
  • Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental laws
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint)
  • SMSTS/SSSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • Perform all duties to a consistently high standard and in alignment with company expectations
  • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership, and integrity at all times
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with management, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety rules without exception
  • Promote and uphold a positive safety culture at all times
