Site Supervisor – Surveying | 4-Month Overseas Contract | January 2027 Start

📍 Overseas | Contract | January 2027 Start

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Site Supervisor to lead and coordinate a team of surveyors on a major overseas infrastructure project.

The project is scheduled to commence in January 2027, with the successful candidate joining for an initial 4-month contract.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone with a strong surveying background who can take responsibility for the day-to-day management of survey activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, accurately, and to programme.

The Role:

You will be responsible for supervising a team of land and engineering surveyors, coordinating their workload, and acting as the key point of contact between the surveying team, site management, engineers, and the wider project team.

You will oversee surveying activities including topographical surveys, setting out, monitoring, and as-built surveys, ensuring the team maintains a consistently high standard of technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate a team of surveyors on site
  • Plan and allocate daily surveying activities and resources
  • Oversee topographical, engineering, setting out, monitoring, and as-built surveys
  • Ensure surveying works are delivered accurately and in accordance with project requirements
  • Review survey data, records, and deliverables for quality and accuracy
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and survey information
  • Liaise closely with site management, engineers, subcontractors, and other disciplines
  • Identify and resolve technical surveying issues on site
  • Ensure survey equipment is correctly maintained, calibrated, and used appropriately
  • Maintain accurate site records and surveying documentation
  • Monitor team performance, productivity, and progress against programme
  • Ensure surveying activities comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements
  • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced surveyors
  • Report progress, issues, and requirements to project management
  • Act as the senior surveying presence on site and represent the project professionally

About You:

We're looking for an experienced surveyor who has progressed into a supervisory or team leadership position and is comfortable taking ownership of surveying operations on a major construction or infrastructure project.

You should have:

  • Strong experience in land and engineering surveying
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team of surveyors
  • Proven experience with setting out, topographical, monitoring, and as-built surveys
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles and construction processes
  • Experience using Leica total stations, GNSS, and digital levels or equivalent equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of survey data, QA procedures, and digital workflows
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work effectively in an overseas, site-based environment
  • Relevant surveying qualifications or professional accreditation
  • Previous overseas experience would be advantageous but is not essential

The Opportunity:

This is a 4-month overseas contract commencing in January 2027, offering the opportunity to take a lead role within a major and highly technical infrastructure project.

You’ll be responsible for a team rather than simply carrying out surveys yourself, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Surveyor, Survey Manager, Survey Supervisor, or Site Surveying Lead looking to take on an international project.
