About The Role
Role: Site Supervisor
Contract: Permanent Opportunity
Division: Building
Location: Helensburgh, Scotland
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Supervisor to support the successful delivery of construction projects within our Building Division. Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for coordinating operatives, subcontractors, plant and materials to maintain productivity and keep works progressing in line with programme requirements. You will act as a key point of contact on site, providing clear direction to the workforce, promoting collaboration across trades and ensuring all activities are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings and agreed methods of work.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to Health & Safety, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced construction environment. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of site organisation, quality and compliance, while supporting the wider project team in achieving programme milestones and delivering a positive experience for clients and stakeholders. Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must be willing to undergo full Security Clearance and be able to work on-site in Helensburgh.
The Site Supervisor Shall
- Supervise daily construction activities to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
- Coordinate operatives, subcontractors, plant and materials to support planned construction activities.
- Monitor progress, productivity and workmanship, reporting any issues or delays to site management.
- Ensure works are correctly sequenced and coordinated with other trades and disciplines.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety procedures, safe systems of work and site standards.
- Ensure RAMS, permits and site briefings are understood and followed by all personnel.
- Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks and safety observations, escalating concerns where required.
- Support environmental compliance and maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site.
- Monitor quality standards, identifying defects or non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.
- Assist with inspections, quality checks, setting-out verification and coordination with engineers as required.
- Support short-term planning, daily work scheduling and the achievement of programme milestones.
- Coordinate site logistics, deliveries and access requirements.
- Communicate effectively with operatives, subcontractors, engineers and site management teams.
- Maintain accurate site records, permits, inspection checklists and workforce information.
- Support project handover activities and close-out documentation where required.
- Promote teamwork, positive behaviours and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Maintain a well-organised, professional and productive working environment at all times.

Personal Specification
- Experience in a Site Supervisor, Foreperson or similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, site operations, programme delivery and quality standards.
- Experience supervising direct labour, subcontractors and multiple work activities on site.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RAMS and work instructions.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety, with a good understanding of construction risks and safe systems of work.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- CSCS/CSR/SafePass Card (or equivalent).
- Must be able to commute to and work on-site in Helensburgh.
- Must hold, or be willing to undergo, Security Clearance checks.
Desirable
- Trade background or relevant construction qualification.
- Experience working on defence, infrastructure, public sector or other highly regulated projects.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trade interfaces.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital site reporting systems.
