Summary of vacancy
Site Supervisor
Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you’ll play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our North Tyneside Transfer Station and Household Waste Recycling Centres. You’ll lead by example, support your team, and help drive continuous improvement across site operations.

Salary: £35,704.78
Hours: Sunday - Wednesday 42 hours per week 6am - 16.30pm
Location: North Tyneside Transfer Station
Benefits: Company car/van
About The Role
What will I be doing?
- Supervising daily site operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Leading, coaching and supporting site employees, ensuring resources are effectively deployed to deliver excellent customer service and maximise recycling performance.
- Monitoring site performance, plant operations and quality standards, while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Managing site administration, including payroll information, budget monitoring, and ordering equipment and operational resources.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, customers and stakeholders to maintain high operational standards and achieve service objectives.

What are the requirements?
- Experience supervising or leading teams within operations, waste management, recycling, logistics, manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A passion for recycling, resource recovery and delivering high standards of service.
- NEBOSH or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification is desirable, or a willingness to achieve this within 12 months.
- Knowledge of plant equipment is advantageous but not essential, as full training and development support will be provided.
