Job Purpose
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within one of our prestigious sites in Newton Mearns for a dynamic Security Supervisor. You will be self-driven with a proactive mindset to lead a security-focused team and deliver a high quality of customer service to both our clients and service users. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive knowledge of supervisory skills in the security sector, an innate understanding of team leadership, and an intuitive approach to delivering an exemplary occupier and visitor experience that exceeds expectations.
As the Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for recruiting, managing, and empowering your team, setting the example as a strong, caring, and inspiring supervisor with an ability to champion success and support where necessary. You will be self-motivated, confident in your communications, and deal with all levels of stakeholders as second nature, with regular, meaningful interactions with the client.
This opportunity operates on a full-time contract, 40 hours per week, working 5 out of 7.
We offer a competitive salary with holiday entitlements of 26 days inclusive of bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of your respective team and provide full support to the Operations Manager
- Ensure all staff on the shift are fully trained with all site procedures/relevant systems
- Ensure shift handovers are reviewed and completed to a high standard by all staff
- Ensure your team are fully aware and conversant with the day's activities
- Carry out regular building patrols and ensure that any faults are properly reported
- Ensure thorough incident reports are completed and these are submitted within the agreed timeframe
- Provide sufficient break cover during the course of the day if patrol cover is not available
- Provide a prompt, polite, and professional service at all times
- Carry out CCTV Monitoring where required
- Key and Asset Management
- Work alongside other service providers to achieve shared client goals through a 'one-team approach'
- Maintain a high level of security at all times
- Ensure all tasks and assignments are carried out to a high standard
- Ensure compliance with SLA requirements, minimizing risks to all associates in the client's business
- Responsible for Rota creation, ensuring extra cover requests are booked and full manning levels maintained
- Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures
- Ensure all staff uniforms are of a high standard with a clean-cut presentation at all times

Essential Candidate Specification
- Must have a valid Door Supervisor and CCTV license
- Professional, highly driven, flexible, enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated team player
- Previous experience in staff management/Supervision and a customer service-facing role
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels
- Immaculate presentation
- Holds a naturally friendly personality with an honest smile
- Clear, concise, and confident communication skills which are customer service-oriented with a very keen eye for detail
- Maintain and practice a high degree of confidentiality at all times
- 5 years of verifiable work history
- Must have a clear understanding and be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills whilst maintaining a high degree of confidentiality at all times
- Flexibility, reliability, and being able to work days/nights and weekends to suit the needs of the business
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure and must be physically able to carry out all duties
- Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Outlook
- Thorough knowledge of relevant security systems and their operation
- Ability to work independently with confidence, using own initiative as required
- Team player with strong leadership skills and being a role model for your fellow colleagues
- Must be patient, tolerant, reliable, and trustworthy whilst being persuasive and assertive
- Confidence in decision making
