South Derby | Responsive Division
WPS has an exciting opportunity for a Site Surveyor to join our Responsive team based in South Derby, with regular travel across the contract area.
Working on planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes, you'll manage projects from initial survey through to final account. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality work while building strong relationships with clients, residents, operational teams, and subcontractors.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining commercial awareness with project delivery in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Site Surveyor, you will:
- Manage planned works projects from survey through to final account
- Carry out property surveys and prepare specifications and scopes of work
- Produce cost estimates, budgets, valuations, CVRs, and progress reports
- Support procurement and pre-construction activities
- Manage subcontractor performance, compliance, valuations, and payments
- Monitor programme delivery, quality, health & safety, and contractual compliance
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Build strong relationships with clients, residents, and supply chain partners

You'll Have
What We're Looking For
- 2-3 years' experience in planned maintenance, refurbishment, property services, or social housing
- Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, procurement activities, and project costs
- Knowledge of planned maintenance contracts, schedules of rates, and construction methodologies
- Experience preparing valuations, financial reports, and final accounts
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A full UK Driving Licence
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience working within the social housing sector
- Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
