Based: Moreton, Wirral, CH46 1PR Salary circa £70,000 per annum + car allowance, bonus + private medical insurance

About the role...

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead the Technical and Quality agenda at our Moreton manufacturing site, the home of the Cadbury Mini Roll.

Operating in a fast-paced, highly competitive branded environment, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality and compliance, while enabling innovation, continuous improvement and strong customer relationships.

This is a key senior site leadership role, with accountability for the Quality Management System (QMS) and for developing a high-performing technical team.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and develop the site Technical & Quality team, embedding a strong food safety and quality culture
  • Own and deliver the site Quality Management System (QMS) in line with Premier Foods standards
  • Act as the principal site contact for customers, regulators, auditors and accreditation bodies
  • Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, ethical standards and customer requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in GMP, hygiene, product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Support innovation and ensure technical capability enables brand, customer and own-label growth
  • Define, implement and maintain technical specifications and quality standards
  • Play a full role in the site leadership team and delivery of the wider business strategy
  • Manage budgets, capital plans and continuous improvement projects within Technical

What we’re looking for

  • Proven senior technical leadership experience within food manufacturing
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a food-related discipline
  • Advanced HACCP and Advanced Food Hygiene qualifications
  • Strong people manager with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Deep knowledge of food safety legislation, GMP and quality systems
  • Experience operating in complex, unionised manufacturing environments
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence, challenge and drive change
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders
