Staffordshire University Academy is a rapidly improving academy. Due to increased student numbers, Team SUA are looking to appoint a site technician to join our site team.

About the role
- Support the day-to-day operation, security and maintenance of the Academy site as part of the Business Team.
- Open and secure the Academy premises at agreed times, including 7:00am starts on a rota basis.
- Carry out routine checks of heating, lighting, fire alarms and security systems to ensure the site is safe and operational.
- Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors, identifying and addressing any Health & Safety concerns.
- Undertake a range of minor repairs and general maintenance, including basic plumbing, joinery and replacement of fixtures and fittings.
- Carry out painting, decorating and general improvement works to maintain the appearance and condition of the Academy.
- Maintain external areas, including litter removal, clearing drains and gullies, and keeping pathways and access routes safe.
- Support the Academy during adverse weather conditions, including gritting and snow clearance to maintain safe access.
- Undertake general portering duties, including moving, setting up and clearing away furniture and equipment as required.
- Liaise with and provide access for contractors and utility representatives, monitoring work taking place on the Academy site where appropriate.

- A reliable, practical and proactive individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming Academy environment.
- Someone who is flexible and adaptable, with the willingness to support out-of-hours lettings and changing operational needs.
- A strong team player who can also work independently, use initiative and take responsibility when required.
- Someone with a good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices, with a commitment to following procedures at all times.
- A professional and approachable individual who can communicate effectively with staff, contractors, visitors and external hirers.
- Someone who demonstrates integrity, confidentiality and professionalism and is committed to supporting the Academy’s ethos and wider community.
