Company Description

OnPoint Surveys Ltd delivers traffic surveys throughout the United Kingdom, supporting a wide range of traffic and transport study requirements. The company uses high mast and low level digital cameras, along with MetroCount Automatic Traffic Counters (ATC), to capture accurate and reliable data. OnPoint Surveys provides nationwide coverage, enabling clients to undertake projects in diverse environments and conditions. Since October 2021, OnPoint Surveys has been an approved TRICS data supplier, reinforcing its commitment to quality and industry standards.

Role Description

The Site Technician role is a full-time hybrid position based in Romford, with some work from home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, installing, and maintaining survey equipment such as digital cameras and ATC units at various roadside and on-site locations.
  • Conducting site assessments.
  • Ensuring safe and compliant setups.
  • Monitoring data collection.
  • Performing basic fault finding and equipment checks.
  • Accurately recording survey information.
  • Reporting issues.
  • Collaborating with the wider team to meet project timelines.

Occasional travel and work during varied hours may be required to support survey operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and the public in a professional manner.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve basic equipment or data collection issues on site.
  • Solid Analytical Skills to review survey data for accuracy, follow procedures, and document findings clearly.
  • Basic technical aptitude with cameras or monitoring equipment and a willingness to learn traffic survey methodologies.
  • Ability to work safely outdoors in varied weather conditions and to follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Good organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail when setting up and recording survey activities.
  • Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel to survey locations as needed.
  • Prior fieldwork, engineering, surveying, or transport-related experience is beneficial but not essential.
