NJC Grade 8, SCP 22 to 27
Salary: FTE £34,811 to £39,481
Actual starting salary: £21,169

Bridgtown Primary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding Sites and Building Supervisor with responsibility for health and safety to join our team.

About The Role
We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, experienced, motivated and flexible Site Manager to take care of our school site and play a key role in maintaining our school environment. Reporting to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective delivery of health and safety, caretaking, cleaning and site maintenance services across the school. You will be responsible for the management of the school Caretaker.
You will be expected to manage, maintain and improve the school infrastructure. This would include the maintenance of buildings, grounds, fixtures/fittings and ensuring a clean, attractive, safe, secure, and welcoming site. We are looking for an individual that will really care for our school, ensuring it looks its best and is a safe and secure environment for all pupils, staff and visitors.
We are looking for someone who has excellent DIY skills, ideally in one or more of the following; plumbing, carpentry or painting. Knowledge of fire and health & safety procedures would be an advantage, although training can be provided. You must be numerate, computer literate and physically fit. Previous use of ‘I Am Compliant’, Entrust Property Portal or similar would be desirable, however, training can be provided.

This role is part time and whole year, annual leave can be taken during term time upon agreement with the Head Teacher that appropriate cover is in place.
Key Requirements
The successful candidates will:
- Take a lead in the health and safety for the site
- Be a nominated key holder
- Identify damage and ensure action taken
- Ensure COSHH records are maintained
- Complete hazard exchange documents
- Carry out maintenance and repairs
- Oversee and liaise with contractors
- Team management skills, management of Caretaker
- Able to take initiative and be proactive
