Description
Christmas at Silverstone (previously Lap of Lights) is the UK’s most spectacular festive experience, and it’s back bigger than ever. The only place in the world where you can drive the home of the British Grand Prix by night, and experience Santa's Garage, skating in a Formula One garage, karting, curling, festive dining. An experience the family will love long after Christmas is over!
The Ice Trak offers the incredible experience of ice skating inside the Silverstone Formula One garages that have been transformed into a North Pole training rink. The Skate Exchange role is part of a team that delivers the Ice Trak. The role will consist of delivering the Skate Exchange ticket checks, indemnities checks, boot exchange and supporting the public through their experience in getting ready for ice skating. This role requires a high level of Customer Service skills and Christmas festive spirit.

Key Responsibilities
- Distribute ice skates quickly and accurately, ensuring that the correct size skates are provided and shoes are stowed away safely for the end of the session.
- Inspect the skates for signs of damage, sanitize and dry where required.
- Proactively assist with queue management, ensuring that the process is clear and well communicated and the public are on the ice in time for their allocated time slot.
- Scan tickets and check indemnities of the public. Where not completed prior to arrival, support the public in the completion of indemnities
- Be responsible for delivery of the cloakroom, ensuring payment is taken and belongings are stowed away safely and correctly.
- Be responsible for keeping the skate exchange area tidy and hazard free, ensuring that the space is safe and presentable.
- Liaise with teams to make sure that the facilities within the Ice Trak are well maintained, including bins and toilets.
- Fans First – Engage with the public in a happy and welcoming manner, providing support on questions, reassurance where needed and ensuring that the customer has an incredible Christmas experience.
- You should feel confident in reporting upwards should there be any incidents, accidents or concerns that need escalation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Enthusiastic, friendly and comfortable working with the public
- Previous experience in public facing based roles
- Comfortable working outside during winter months
- Available evenings, weekends and over the festive period
- Previous experience of working in a Skate Exchange is desirable, but not essential
- Comfortable working close to strobe lighting
Availability
- Dates: Thursday 10th December to Thursday 31st December 2026 (shift work)
- Times: 13:00 – 22:00 (subject to change)
