SKILLED AIRCRAFT FITTER

£28.87 per hour via Umbrella
35 hours per week | Monday–Thursday, 6:30am–3:45pm
Initial 12-month contract | Scope for permanent employment
Filton | On-site | Overtime available

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, with a proud aeronautical heritage and a renowned UK site responsible for designing, testing, and manufacturing wings for a range of commercial and military aircraft. Due to continued production requirements, they are looking for skilled aircraft fitters to join their Build Production team in Filton.

THE SKILLED AIRCRAFT FITTER ROLE:

As a Skilled Aircraft Fitter, you will join the Build Production team, working on various Airbus aircraft and completing aircraft fitting tasks to the required quality and safety standards.

You will work from engineering instructions and aircraft drawings, using power tools for tasks including drilling, shimming, and sealing. The role may also involve working in confined spaces, including tank work where access and egress through oval-shaped manholes can be restricted and physically demanding.

Following successful completion of the relevant training courses, there will also be an opportunity to undertake 1st party certification.

SKILLED AIRCRAFT FITTER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Time served Apprenticeship required within an engineering field
  • Ability to understand and work from aircraft drawings and engineering instructions
  • Experience using power tools, including for drilling, shimming, and sealing
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Openness to continuous improvement and new ways of working
  • Strong knowledge of and commitment to Health & Safety standards
  • Comfortable working in confined and physically demanding environments
