Simpson is a privately owned, family run, medium sized construction company based in York. Our expertise covers a wide range of sectors within the construction industry, from Fit-Out, Construction and Developments, to Heritage and Bespoke Joinery.
What sets us apart is our fully integrated construction and fit out service supported by our in-house joinery workshop, which specialises in high-end bespoke cabinetry and joinery. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, we produce work to the highest standards for a wide range of clients.
To help support the ever-increasing workload we are seeking an experienced Bench Hand Joiner / Cabinet Maker to join our skilled workshop team.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality, bespoke joinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacturing bespoke joinery and cabinetry to a high standard
- Interpreting technical drawings and working independently
- Machining, assembling, and finishing products in the workshop
- Working with a variety of materials including hardwoods, laminates, and sheet materials
- Ensuring all work meets quality standards and deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bench joiner or cabinet maker
- Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Skilled in using workshop machinery and hand tools safely
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
