Role Description

The skilled builder role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pudsey. The builder will carry out a range of construction tasks including groundwork, bricklaying, joinery, and general building work on residential and commercial projects. Daily responsibilities include:

The role involves:

  • Collaborating with other trades
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Communicating progress or issues to the site supervisor

The builder may also assist with site setup, material deliveries, and occasional client-facing interactions as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical building skills across areas such as bricklaying, carpentry/joinery, basic plumbing or electrical awareness, and general construction work.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications, measure accurately, and use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites, including safe manual handling and use of PPE.
  • Reliable time management, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks to agreed quality standards and deadlines.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work respectfully with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Previous experience in residential and/or commercial building projects; relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeships are an advantage.
  • Valid CSCS card and full driving license are beneficial.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new building methods, materials, and regulations.
