NIGHT SHIFT BUS MECHANIC / PSV TECHNICIAN (HGV EXPERIENCE WELCOME)
£25.57 per hour | £1,109.56 per week
Night shifts: 21:50–06:26
Rota: 7 nights on, 3 off, followed by 7 nights on, 4 off

Join Arriva London’s engineering team and play a key role in keeping our bus fleet safe, reliable and ready for the road. You’ll carry out hands-on maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, tackling varied technical challenges alongside fellow engineers.
Whether your background is in buses, coaches or HGVs, we’d like to hear from you. Your experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles could make you a great fit.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Carrying out servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs across our bus fleet.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and your technical knowledge.
- Completing vehicle inspections and safety checks to meet company standards and relevant requirements.
- Investigating recurring faults and helping reduce vehicle downtime.
- Working with the engineering and operations teams to ensure buses are ready for service.
- Keeping accurate records of repairs, maintenance and parts used.
- Sharing your expertise with colleagues and supporting less experienced team members.
- Maintaining a safe, organised working environment.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A relevant engineering or vehicle maintenance qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience as a Bus Mechanic, PSV Technician, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a practical approach to solving problems.
- Confidence using workshop equipment and diagnostic tools.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to quality workmanship, vehicle safety and reliable service.
