About The Role
As a Skilled Operative you will be working as part of the Production Team, conducting checks, documenting and recording against company procedures to legal compliance in food manufacturing at site.
- Carrying out finished product weight checks against a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance
- Carrying out label checks against a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance.
- Setting up printers including date coding on pack, correctly for each product run, against customer guidelines.
- Maintaining traceability of ingredients, raw material and finished product to ensure product due diligence.
- Stock control enforcement, including managing fixed and WIP stock, reviewing paperwork and identifying any close to use by and out of use by material, to report to Section Manager
- Carrying out product temperature checks against a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance and due diligence.
- Checking QUID values against declared, on a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance.
- Recording all rework reasons for report produced by Production Manager

What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- A good level of English and basic numeracy skills
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- Good attention to detail and a responsible attitude to tasks
- Be self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines

Our advanced manufacturing site in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is our newest advanced manufacturing site, and we’ve invested around £4.7 million into state-of-the-art facilities.
Our Wednesbury site is a flagship Added Value centre for Avara, which employs over 150 talented individuals at the site, who help to supply some of the UK’s largest supermarkets and popular restaurants!
