We are seeking an experienced Skilled Operative to join our modular manufacturing team in Hull.
Vanguard Healthcare Solutions Modular is part of Vanguard Healthcare Solutions Limited, a UK-based international provider of infrastructure and clinical services supporting healthcare clients worldwide.
Our purpose-designed mobile and modular facilities provide healthcare organisations with additional or replacement clinical spaces, including operating theatres, endoscopy suites, sterilisation departments and diagnostic facilities.
The Role
Working as part of our factory operations team, you will support the manufacture, refurbishment and preparation of high-quality modular healthcare buildings.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with experience across multiple construction or manufacturing disciplines who takes pride in producing work safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of modular manufacturing activities, including steel fabrication, cassette and wall construction, insulation, plasterboarding, joinery, fire stopping, external finishes and refurbishment works.
- Work accurately from construction drawings, specifications and production instructions.
- Complete quality checks and help ensure work is completed right first time.
- Use hand tools, power tools and equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow factory health, safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Maintain good housekeeping and support our 5S workplace standards.
- Handle materials carefully, minimise waste and protect completed work.
- Identify and report safety concerns, defects and production issues promptly.
- Support and guide Semi-Skilled Operatives, sharing knowledge and demonstrating good working practices.
- Operate plant or specialist equipment where appropriately trained and authorised.

What We're Looking For
You will ideally have:
- Experience within modular manufacturing, construction, manufacturing or a similar practical environment.
- Experience across several relevant skills such as steel fabrication, joinery, drylining, plasterboarding or modular assembly.
- The ability to read and work from construction drawings.
- Confidence using hand and powered tools.
- A good understanding of safe working practices and quality standards.
- A practical, flexible approach and willingness to work across different production activities.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-skilled team and support less experienced colleagues.
- Relevant vocational qualifications, industry-recognised training or equivalent practical experience would be beneficial.
- Plant qualifications such as FLT or MEWP would also be advantageous.
