Skilled Operator for Operations Manufacturing
About the Role
We are looking for a Skilled Operator for our Operations Manufacturing business unit.
Operations unit strengthens Kemira’s operational backbone by optimizing supply chain performance and driving cost efficiency. The unit supports business growth across all segments, enabling business units to focus on delivering their commercial strategies. Manufacturing organization in the Operations unit ensures safe, efficient, and sustainable production of chemical solutions that meet customer needs across industries. The unit is responsible for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards in Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality. Manufacturing plays a key role in driving performance, innovation, and collaboration across global sites.
As a Skilled Operator you will be based at our Ellesmere Port site working a 24/7 annualised hours shift pattern. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Operating and maintaining the production equipment, following operating procedures and operating a chemical process to ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 standards.
- Providing planned and unplanned maintenance support.
- Carrying out in-process adjustments alongside repairing and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Assisting in production operations as required so a flexible approach to teamwork will be key to your success.

What you’ll bring to the team
- An electrical qualification (strongly preferred), a mechanical qualification will also be considered. Ideally gained through an apprenticeship, together with production or operational experience in an industrial environment, preferably within the chemical industry.
- A good level of computer literacy.
- Experience using maintenance management systems; preferably with knowledge of SAP.
- A counterbalance forklift license.
- MEWPs and PASMA certifications would be advantageous.
- Experience with Siemens hardware and programming and/or PLC/SCADA systems would be an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

- The salary for this role is £39,367 basic, £5,968 contracted overtime and £10,689 disturbance allowance per year.
