Production Operator

Location: Histon, Cambridgeshire
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Department: Production

About The Role

We are looking for motivated, reliable and experienced Production Operators to join our team in Histon. In this role, you will take responsibility for operating machinery and supporting production processes, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

You will work in a semi-autonomous capacity within a supportive team environment, with guidance from line managers and trainers where required.

The Hours Of Work Will Be

  • 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm & 10pm - 6am on a rotational basis
  • Monday OR
  • 6am - 6pm, Monday to Thursday & 6pm - 6am Monday to Wednesday on a rotational basis.

Starting at £15.10 an hour plus shift premium with the potential to increase to £16.49 an hour plus shift premium when full capability is reached.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free working environment
  • Follow all health & safety policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure safe operations
  • Actively support site safety behaviours and standards

Quality

  • Follow recipes and processes to exact specifications
  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards
  • Complete all documentation accurately and clearly
  • Report and resolve any production or quality issues

Hygiene

  • Follow “Clean As You Go” practices at all times
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across equipment and work areas
  • Adhere to site hygiene and PPE standards

Output & Performance

  • Deliver production targets within agreed timeframes
  • Carry out changeovers to required standards
  • Accurately record machine settings and product samples
  • Work flexibly with team members to meet customer demands

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous factory or production experience is desirable but not essential
  • Methodical and detail-oriented approach
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and team-focused attitude
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills (Level 1 or equivalent)
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime when required
