Dunbia West Devon - Slaughterman Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team at Dunbia West Devon at our Hatherleigh site, working for an established company within the food production industry in our busy cattle abattoir.

All PPE and equipment required for the role will be supplied at no extra cost to you.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, starting from 6:30am. Pay rate based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out skilled slaughtering duties within the abattoir
  • Follow departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced production environment in line with operational requirements.
  • Work closely with the manager and wider team to achieve departmental targets.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of Health, Safety, Hygiene and Food Safety in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have previous experience working as a slaughterman (ideally within a cattle abattoir)
  • Be physically fit and comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Have strong knife skills
  • Be flexible and able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Good understanding of animal welfare and hygiene requirements
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Be committed to working in line with the company's Mission, Vision and Values.
