Location: Horley, Surrey

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00 (Overtime available on weekday evenings and possibly Saturday mornings)

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and skill level

About the Role

Our client, a leading architectural metalwork specialist based in Horley, is seeking a skilled, reliable, and hard-working Welder / Fabricator to join their established workshop team.

They design, manufacture, and install high-end architectural metalwork for both residential and commercial projects. Their diverse product range includes bespoke staircases, balustrades, structural canopies, fire escapes, access ramps, and custom fabrications.

Working within a dedicated team of 4–5 fabricators, you will play a key role in taking projects from initial technical drawings through to final assembly and high-quality finishing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reading and accurately interpreting engineering and architectural working drawings.
  • Fabricating architectural metalwork structures using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
  • Operating workshop machinery, including press brakes (folding), cutting, and shaping equipment.
  • Carrying out high-standard MIG and TIG welding across various gauges and materials.
  • Prepping, grinding, and finishing products to exact quality standards prior to installation or surface treatment.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members to meet production schedules safely and efficiently.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in metal fabrication and welding, ideally within the architectural metalwork sector.
  • Welding Skills: Proficient in both MIG and TIG welding across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
  • Technical Skills: Confident reading fabrication drawings and operating shop machinery (press brake experience is essential).
  • Quality Focus: High attention to detail with pride in delivering neat welds and clean product finishes.
  • Attributes: Punctual, hard-working, adaptable, and a genuine team player seeking a long-term, stable career position.
