About the Role
At Routeco, our Operations & Logistics teams play a vital role in delivering the high-quality products and services our customers rely on. As a Skilled Wireperson, your work will help ensure assemblies and control panels are built accurately, safely, and efficiently to meet customer specifications and agreed timescales.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Build low-voltage assemblies and first-off control panels to customer specifications, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Complete builds within agreed timescales while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
- Maintain job packs and associated paperwork, produce labels, and provide build feedback to the Engineering team.
- Work collaboratively across departments to improve manufacturing efficiency and support apprentices’ development.
- Take ownership of additional departmental or project tasks and your ongoing personal development.
What You Need to Bring to Routeco
Required:
- Previous practical wiring experience, with broad knowledge of wiring, fitting, and sub-assembly best practice.
- Ability to read and work accurately from electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
- A methodical, precise approach, with the persistence to complete work to a high standard in a structured environment.
- GCSEs in Maths and English, or equivalent, together with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- An Electrical Craft Apprenticeship and the ability to provide practical solutions to engineering problems.
