We are MAD Colour
MAD Colour is a well-established, family-owned design, print, and manufacturing company specialising in the events and fit-out sectors, producing ‘Creativity Materialised’.
Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Skilled Workshop & Installation Operative to join our busy and dedicated team.
This is a varied, hands-on position for someone with practical joinery skills who enjoys working across different projects and disciplines. You could be helping to manufacture a custom display one day, setting up a REXframe structure the next, and supporting the finishing or installation of a large-format graphics project after that.
No two days are ever the same.
About You
You do not need to be a fully qualified joiner, but you should have a few years’ practical experience in joinery, carpentry, fit-out, construction, exhibition production, or a similar hands-on environment.
We are looking for a skilled and adaptable person who is comfortable using hand and power tools, can understand measurements and basic drawings, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
You will be based primarily in our workshop but will also work as part of cross-functional teams across the business.
This may include:
- Supporting joinery and custom manufacturing projects
- Preparing and assembling exhibition and event structures
- Building and installing reusable REXframe display systems
- Assisting with large-format print finishing and preparation
- Loading, delivering, and installing projects on client sites
- Supporting other production activities when required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
