About The College

Hartlepool Sixth Form is the top performing Sixth Form college in the North East for student achievement, with 100% pass rate for over 30 courses and 98% of our student progressing to either College or employment.

Here in Hartlepool, we have been delivering highly successful courses for more than 50 years as the only dedicated sixth form college in the area. Situated on the outskirts of the town centre, we have excellent facilities for both academic and vocational study with excellent sports facilities, fully equipped science labs, and have recently invested in a new digital academy and a health simulation ward.

About The Candidate

We’re looking for someone passionate, empathetic, and inspiring- someone who can ignite creativity and confidence in others. As a Skills Development Coach you’ll be more than a mentor; you’ll be a catalyst for growth, helping individuals discover their voice and reach their potential.

You’ll bring exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of diverse learning needs, and the ability to adapt and motivate. About The Role

As a skills development coach you’ll play a key role in shaping a meaningful programme that supports personal growth and employability, making this a fantastic chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. You will support and facilitate student's industry placements and work experience opportunities, collaborating with employers and industry professionals, to ensure that our young people are employer ready at the end of their studies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual learner needs and project goals
  • Support participants in developing practical skills, confidence, and employability skills
  • Track and monitor learner progress, including managing documentation for work experience (WEX) and industry placement records
  • Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and partner organisations to coordinate meaningful placement opportunities
  • Maintain accurate administrative records and contribute to regular reporting and evaluation activities

Qualifications

  • Qualified to level 3 or above in a relevant subject
  • English and maths to a minimum of level 2
  • Full clean driving license

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working with young people and adults in group situations
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of working within a relevant technical area
  • Effective written communication with staff and students
  • Good oral communication skills with students and staff
  • Ability to work with a wide ability range of learners
  • Effective use of Digital and ICT resources
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines and targets
  • Ability to develop effective working partnerships with colleagues and students
