Trainee Pipefitting Programme

Hinkley Point C

Have you worked in a pipefitting team for at least 2 years? Would you like to be employed as a Trainee Pipefitter at Hinkley Point C?

Are you committed to studying towards an ECITB Level 3 Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems (RQF) – Pipefitting Pathway to become a qualified Pipefitter?

Opportunity:

Employment as a Trainee Pipefitter with study towards the ECITB Level 3 Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems (RQF) – Pipefitting Pathway.

Commitment:

12 weeks off the job training (employed) followed by up to 24 months on site experience & skills development to complete the qualification.

Eligibility:

  • Min 2 years onsite working with a pipefitting team
  • Ability to achieve the CCNSG
  • English and maths skills at a level suitable to complete a Level 3 Diploma

When:

Start date TBC

Location:

Cannington (Mechanical Centre of Excellence near Bridgwater TA5) for 10 weeks of training before deployment to HPC site, 2 weeks will be required at a later date. Travel and accommodation costs paid during the off site training at Cannington paid in line with HPC Site Agreements.

Employment:

With an MEH phase contractor at HPC.

Salary:

Basic salary from day one of training circa £20.97 per hour (ESCA Grade 2) with the potential to increase after 12 months (on successful completion of training milestones).

Assessment:

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria above and invited to an assessment day in Cannington, near Bridgwater TA5 (assessments will include a pipefitting practical test and maths / English test) including an interview with a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Successful candidates will initially be selected to join a talent pool with the aim be selected to start as employed Trainee Pipefitters at Hinkley Point C.

This opportunity will close at 4pm on 10 September or earlier if we meet the required threshold of applications.
