Role Description
The STEM/Skills Support Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with flexibility for some work from home. The role involves supporting the design and delivery of STEM and skills development programmes for schools, learners, and employers across the region. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Coordinating workshops and events
- Preparing learning materials and resources
- Liaising with stakeholders such as educators, businesses, and partner organisations
- Tracking participant engagement
- Collecting feedback and outcomes data
- Contributing to continuous improvement of programmes

The role also includes administrative support, effective communication with internal teams, and promoting STEM initiatives through digital and offline channels.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in education support and programme delivery, including experience working with STEM or skills-based learning initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with learners, educators, and business stakeholders.
- Organisational and administrative skills, including event coordination, scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Competence with digital tools and platforms used for learning, outreach, and collaboration (e.g., office software, online meeting tools, learning resources).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid work environment.
- Experience in skills development, careers education, or employer engagement is highly beneficial.
- A relevant degree or equivalent experience in education, STEM disciplines, business, or a related field is desirable.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting diverse participants to access STEM and skills opportunities.
