Skills Tutor – Nottingham and Nottinghamshire
Are you passionate about helping people unlock their potential, gain new skills, and progress in their careers in the Education sector? If so, we have an opportunity to join us as a Skills Tutor and make a real impact across Nottinghamshire.
Contract: Fixed term until 31 December 2026
Location: Hybrid (travel across Nottinghamshire required)
Grade: 5 (£28,700 - £32,031)
Hours: Full-time – 37 hours per week (fixed)
This is a full-time post with set hours, and the role requires full availability across the working week.
What you’ll do
- Deliver high quality teaching, learning, and assessment to adult learners looking to work in schools and college environments
- Support individuals into employment, further education, or skills development
- Embed essential skills including Maths, English, digital, and employability
- Plan inspiring schemes of work and lessons that meet learner needs
- Develop learning plans that support individual goals and progression
- Monitor progress, manage your caseload effectively, and support timely achievement
- Provide developmental feedback that helps learners improve and succeed
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and continuously improve engaging learning materials
- Contribute to quality assurance, standardisation, and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Keep your own professional practice up to date

What we're looking for
Essential:
- Experience of teaching or support work in schools
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, CET/DET or L4 equivalent)
- Assessor qualification (CAVA/A1 etc.)
- Level 2 vocational competence in your specialist area
- Strong digital and IT skills
- English and Maths at Level 2
- Experience teaching adult learners
- Ability to plan, organise and manage a caseload to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

- Level 2 Advice & Guidance Qualification
