Role/Team Overview
As a member of Sky’s Group Bigger Picture team within Corporate Affairs, you will play a critical role in inspiring people to think more positively about Sky, acting on the issues our customers and staff care about and play a part in making a difference to the communities where we live and work.
Our Sky Up area is a group-wide commitment, to provide opportunities to 250k individuals from all backgrounds to have a voice and build skills for the future through our various immersive experiences.
Our Youth & Social Impact programmes are a group-wide commitment to provide opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to have a voice and build skills for the future. In this role, you'll support and contribute to the development of our Youth & Social Impact initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of, or a passion for, working with young people in a setting such as youth work, coaching, education or mentoring. An interest in film, television and the creative industries would be an advantage, as you'll help young people explore careers and build skills through our immersive studio experiences. Whether you're a teaching assistant, cover supervisor, youth worker or come from another relevant background, we'd love to hear from you.
You’ll be facilitating a best-in-class immersive educational experience that uses the power of TV and Film to equip young people with skills for the future. Using bespoke software and studio equipment, you will take groups of young people through the process of creating a film pitch.
What You’ll Do
- Successfully facilitate Sky Up Academy Studios sessions for young people aged 10-18
- Actively support young people who present with SEND to ensure the session meets their needs
- Be responsible for briefing all visitors to Sky Up Academy Studios and conducting tours opening the doors to the world of work at Sky
- Attend regular training and development opportunities to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and local policy developments
- Work with the Youth & Social Impact Executive on the school’s recruitment strategy with a specific focus on underserved areas
- Ensure all the correct due diligence has been done, including all safeguarding, legal, data protection and health and safety
- Establish boundaries, challenge inappropriate behaviour and reporting
- Support the Youth & Social Impact Manager and the Group Head of Youth & Social Impact with the overall strategy for Sky in education working closely with peers to achieve results

- Proactive, adaptable individual who works well in time pressured situations
- Creative thinking with a talent for practical problem solving
- Confident collaborator with the ability to work with all types of young people including SEND
- Strong communicator who can work both independently and within a team
- Ability to grasp new and complex issues quickly in a fast-paced environment
- An interest in supporting and inspiring young people to develop skills and confidence
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people, teachers and other visitors
- An interest in film, television and the creative industries, and enthusiasm for inspiring young people through immersive experiences
- Excellent team player and self-motivated
- Prioritising your workload and taking a flexible approach to changes in direction
- The ability to encourage and inspire students
- Reliable with a high level of resilience
- You must be able to pass an enhanced background check for this role

How You’ll Work
This role is fully onsite (5 days per week) in Sky Studios, Elstree
Your Office Base
Sky Studios Elstree is a state-of-the-art film and TV studio in Hertfordshire, built with sustainability at the heart. Equipped with the latest technology, our 12 sound stages provide the space to bring creative vision to life, from the smallest productions to the most epic.
Light, open and airy. From the landscaped gardens and sustainable buildings to our incredible food options and services, we designed our spaces to stimulate creativity, provide support throughout the day and give you the flexibility you need.
Trying to find us? The studio is just off A1 Barnet Bypass, less than two miles from Borehamwood town centre and a 5-minute drive from the M25. By train, just head to Elstree & Borehamwood Station, and grab one of our free electric shuttle buses
