Care Assistant – £55 Sleep-In Payment + 3 Paid Hours at £13.45 per Hour

Looking for a rewarding night role with the opportunity to sleep during your shift?

Ocean Living is a friendly 14-bedroom residential care home in Mumbles, Swansea, providing high-quality residential and dementia care in a warm, welcoming environment.

We're looking for a caring and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team on a permanent sleep-in night rota. You'll play an important role in supporting our residents during their evening and morning routines, helping them feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

This is a sleep-in night position and not a waking night role.

Your shift runs from 8:00pm until 8:00am, however you are not expected to remain awake throughout the night.

The shift works as follows:

  • 8:00pm-10:00pm – Supporting residents with their evening routine.
  • 10:00pm-7:00am – Sleep-in period. You will have sleeping facilities provided and are expected to sleep unless you are required to assist a resident.
  • 7:00am-8:00am – Supporting residents with their morning routine, including washing, dressing, and breakfast.

For each sleep-in shift you will receive:

  • £55 sleep-in payment
  • PLUS 3 paid working hours at £13.45 per hour (2 hours in the evening and 1 hour in the morning).

Please note: This role is worked on a rota basis and alternate weekends are an essential part of the position.

Your duties may include:

  • Supporting residents with their evening routine.
  • Preparing tea and toast.
  • Light household duties and cleaning.
  • Assisting residents to bed.
  • Supporting residents with washing, dressing, and breakfast in the morning.
  • Providing reassurance and support should a resident require assistance overnight.

  • Previous care experience is welcomed but not essential
