Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Small Tools Service Engineer role based in Dunfermline. The role involves inspecting, servicing, and repairing a range of small tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for hire. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing faults, performing routine maintenance, completing technical repairs, and testing equipment before release to customers. The engineer will document all work carried out, follow safety and compliance procedures, and support the depot team with technical queries. The role also includes occasional customer interaction to provide basic technical guidance and support.

- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose and resolve faults on small tools and related equipment.
- Candidates should possess Maintenance & Repair experience, including routine servicing, mechanical and electrical repairs, and safety inspections.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to work with colleagues, provide clear updates, and support customers when required.
- Candidates should possess Field Service capabilities, including working on equipment in the workshop and, when necessary, at customer sites.
- Relevant vocational or technical qualification in engineering, mechanics, or a related discipline is beneficial.
- Experience in the hire industry or with construction, industrial, or power tools is an advantage.
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures, read technical manuals, and use diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
