CNX Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK facilities management provider for an experienced Small Works Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of projects at a prestigious pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Barnard Castle.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and commercially aware Contracts Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of small works projects within a highly regulated, live operational environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing multiple small works projects from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with the client, site teams, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, you will coordinate all aspects of project delivery while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of small works construction and M&E projects.
  • Prepare programmes, quotations and project plans.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor project costs and commercial performance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting and client communication.
  • Identify and manage project risks and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or Small Works Manager within construction or facilities management.
  • Experience delivering projects within live commercial, industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • SMSTS & CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
