Job Description: Small Works Manager
Department Overview
MJ Quinn is a contractor for the provision of Mechanical, Electrical services. Our Facilities Management department manages a portfolio of buildings in both public and private sectors. The ideal candidate will come from a MEB background.
Primary Objective
- Managing small works for the department.
- Involved in estimating of the works.
- Reviewing of RAM’s for the works.
- Ensuring commercial information is kept up to date.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Ensuring good Stakeholder/client communication during works.
- Day to day management of engineers on the Projects.
- Working in highly sensitive areas under pressure.
Relationships
To be effective in this role the Small Works Manager will need to:
- Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.
- Be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively with all other departments.
- Ensure that challenging corporate messages are delivered and supported through open communication.

Person Specification
To be successful in this role the Small Works Manager should have:
- Strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
- Must have experience within a similar role.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Be proficient on Microsoft Excel.
- Strong administration skills and ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Can prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations.
- Be able to drive performance.
- Be able to work within a high-pressured environment.
- Be confident in decision making and communication.

Education, Qualification and Certification
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft packages, in particular Excel.
- Experience within a similar role/ industry.
