Your new role
What you’ll do:
The Small Works Supervisor plays a pivotal role within the maintenance team, overseeing the effective delivery of small works and associated activities across the Wakefield contract.
The role is responsible for coordinating and supervising subcontractors undertaking small works, ensuring that works are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standard, within agreed timescales, and in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
The Small Works Supervisor will act as the key operational point of contact for subcontractors, providing clear direction and ensuring that all works are properly planned, coordinated, and completed. The role will also involve regular liaison with the client, operational teams, Compliance colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
The role requires a strong understanding of building maintenance and construction activities, together with the ability to manage multiple works simultaneously and challenge subcontractors where standards, costs, quality, or timescales are not being achieved.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
