Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Smart Meter Engineer to join us at Honeywell, in central belt Scotland, where you will be responsible for technical support and service maintenance of the smart metering and associated Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) at our customer sites, understanding the client’s operational requirements and how these are met by Honeywell’s solutions. We Enable our Customers to Enhance the Safety, Sustainability, Resilience and Productivity of their People, Plants, and Assets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support, training, and workshops to customers on operation, maintenance, and optimisation of smart water metering solutions.
  • Deliver second-line technical support by investigating and resolving smart metering and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) incidents, both remotely and in the field.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, and third-party technology providers to ensure successful configuration, deployment, and delivery of metering and telecommunications equipment.
  • Support testing, pilot installations, proof-of-concept projects, and end-to-end solution validation to achieve customer approval and successful project implementation.
  • Contribute to continuous product improvement by providing technical feedback, supporting product demonstrations, and staying informed of industry developments, standards, and best practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
