About the Role

As the SMCR Manager, you will lead the firm's SMCR framework, ensuring compliance with FCA requirements and promoting a culture of accountability and good conduct across the business. Working closely with Senior Managers and key stakeholders, you will maintain SMCR governance documentation, coordinate Fitness & Propriety assessments, manage Conduct Rules activity and support regulatory applications. You will also deliver training, provide regulatory guidance and produce management information to support effective governance and oversight.

This role is suitable for candidates who can work out of our Cheltenham office, on a hybrid basis.

About You

You are an experienced financial services professional with a strong understanding of governance, regulation and accountability. Confident working with senior stakeholders, you can provide practical guidance, deliver training and help embed a culture of good conduct across the business. You are highly organised, analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
