SME Account Manager
Location: Brighton
Full Time / Permanent
Hybrid – 1 day a week in the office
35 hours
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 + Performance-based Bonus.

This is a great opportunity to join Bupa Global and manage a portfolio of small and medium-sized business health insurance accounts. You'll build strong relationships with existing customers and intermediary partners, helping them get the most from their health insurance plans while delivering excellent service every step of the way. You'll also identify opportunities to retain and grow your portfolio, supporting both customer satisfaction and business success.

Key Responsibilities
As an SME Account Manager, you'll:
- Manage a portfolio of existing direct and intermediary health insurance accounts.
- Retain and grow business in line with agreed targets.
- Take ownership of customer relationships, providing proactive and responsive support.
- Manage renewals, account growth opportunities, pricing discussions and debt management activities.
- Build strong relationships with group secretaries, intermediaries and key customer contacts.
- Hold regular customer meetings virtually and face-to-face to understand customer needs and strengthen partnerships.
- Identify opportunities for referrals and new business within your portfolio.
- Keep customers informed and provide clear, accurate information about products and services.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve customer queries and deliver positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate customer records and complete administration tasks within agreed timescales.
- Monitor market and competitor activity and share insights with the wider team.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and embrace change positively.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues where appropriate.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with customers, building relationships and helping businesses find the right solutions.
You'll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the health insurance, healthcare or wider insurance market
- Experience managing a portfolio of customer accounts.
- Experience working directly with customers, including face-to-face meetings.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- A track record of retaining and growing customer accounts.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and a positive attitude towards change.
