About the Role
Earn from day one - base salary of £50,825 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable) plus up to 8% bonus potential, overtime opportunities and a fully equipped RAC van.
Lead and develop a team of Mobile Mechanics - support around 25 technicians through coaching, technical guidance and day-to-day leadership, helping them deliver exceptional service to members.
Enjoy more structure and balance - join our growing Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division, with a planned schedule of appointments, the right tools for the job and the time to focus on quality workmanship.
This role is based within the Kent area, working a 40-hour week, with 1 in 4 Saturdays and a weekday rest day.
At the RAC, we've built something different. Our SMR division delivers planned servicing, maintenance and repairs directly to members, giving our technicians the freedom of working independently with the support of a wider team behind them.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with leadership experience who wants to take the next step in their career. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
