Our client, a well-established electronics manufacturing services provider, is looking for an SMT Machine Operator to join their team on a permanent basis in Berkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business operating from a modern facility, supporting the production of high-quality electronic assemblies for customers across a diverse range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and prepare feeders for SMT production requirements.
- Carry out PCB setup and handling for production line processes.
- Set up and operate solder paste printing equipment, including stencil loading, programme creation, production processing, and stencil cleaning.
- Set up, programme, and operate SMT placement machines.
- Create and maintain machine programmes in line with production requirements.
- Process production runs efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Strip machines following production and return components to kits in the correct order.
- Operate reflow ovens to process assembled PCBs.
- Follow work instructions, build documentation, and quality procedures accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.

Experience Required
- Experience in a similar SMT manufacturing role.
- Good knowledge of PCB-level SMT component assembly.
- Basic understanding of PCB technologies.
- Strong knowledge of SMT assembly processes and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience reading and following work/build instructions.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) would be advantageous.
- Understanding of Moisture Sensitivity Levels (MSL).
- Good IT skills, including experience using machine control and programming software.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
