Role: Snowflake Consultant

Location: London
Permanent Role
Work Mode: Remote with occasional office visit

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Snowflake data warehouse and cloud data platform solutions.
  • Develop scalable data models, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and SQL queries.
  • Perform data migration from legacy/on-premise platforms to Snowflake.
  • Develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines for ingestion and transformation.
  • Work with large datasets and optimise Snowflake performance and query execution.
  • Implement Snowflake security, including RBAC, roles, privileges, masking and data access policies.
  • Configure and manage Snowflake warehouses, databases, schemas and resource utilisation.
  • Implement Snowflake Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe and Dynamic Tables where appropriate.
  • Integrate Snowflake with cloud services and data integration platforms.
  • Work with AWS/Azure/GCP data services and cloud storage.
  • Develop data solutions using SQL and Python.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, performance and data quality issues.
  • Support data governance, metadata management and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, BI Developers and business stakeholders.
  • Provide technical documentation and support knowledge transfer to development teams.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
  • Excellent SQL skills.
  • Strong understanding of cloud data warehousing and data lake architectures.
  • Experience in ETL/ELT development and data migration.
  • Experience with Snowflake performance tuning and optimisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake security and RBAC.
  • Experience with Snowflake Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe and Dynamic Tables.
  • Good understanding of data modelling, including dimensional modelling.
  • Experience with Python for data engineering/automation.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience with data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Matillion, Talend or similar.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance and lineage.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with dbt and modern ELT frameworks.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of Kafka or other real-time data ingestion technologies.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other BI platforms.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices for data platforms.
  • Snowflake certifications would be advantageous.
