Senior Business Consultant
As a Senior Business Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening market presence and revenue growth across the United Kingdom. You will combine consultative selling, industry insight, and disciplined opportunity management to solve complex customer needs.
You will manage the full sales cycle, from market development and qualification through solution shaping, commercial negotiation, and close. Success depends on working across Honeywell functions and the customer ecosystem to deliver integrated solutions spanning building management, fire, security, access, SaaS, and IoT.
The role is based in the United Kingdom on a hybrid work schedule and reports to Sales Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively build and use internal and external relationships to generate qualified growth opportunities for Honeywell Building Solutions.
- Lead and execute the disciplined sales process from opportunity identification through close, anticipating customer needs at every stage.
- Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s business, strategic drivers, operating priorities, and financial requirements, and translate this insight into a compelling value proposition.
- Engage senior customer stakeholders and coordinate executive sponsorship to progress complex opportunities and create durable business relationships.
- Mobilise cross-functional resources to shape solutions, manage risk, and deliver orders, margin, and growth across new accounts, markets, and geographies.
- Own monthly and quarterly forecasts for the assigned account base, maintaining accurate opportunity data and clear next-step plans.
- Lead strategic account and opportunity planning to prioritise activity, improve conversion, and achieve agreed targets.
- Sell integrated built-environment solutions including building management systems, fire, security, and access, supported by SaaS and IoT propositions.
- Navigate the complete buying ecosystem, including end users, general contractors, mechanical and electrical contractors, consultants, and cost consultants.
- Represent the business professionally in customer meetings, industry forums, and partner engagements, with a strong focus on trust, value, and long-term growth.

Essential Experience and Capabilities
- At least five years of direct sales experience, including at least three years of solution selling in complex customer environments.
- A proven sales background in building technology, with evidence of a results-focused and commercially disciplined approach.
- Experience working with enterprise, public-sector or government customers, general contractors, architects, investors, or similarly complex stakeholder groups.
- Experience in sectors such as life sciences, industrial, or wider manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to work across the full ecosystem of end users, contractors, and consultants.
- Strong emotional intelligence, active listening, and interpersonal skills that support lasting client relationships.
- Confidence communicating business value with senior stakeholders and coordinating internal specialists without relying on formal authority.
- Ability to prioritise across multiple pursuits and perform effectively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Knowledge of building management solutions and security technologies, including surveillance, access control, fire, and protection systems.
- Understanding of software-enabled services, connected-building propositions, SaaS, and IoT value models.
- Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Working Relationships
- Customers: senior decision-makers, operational leaders, technical stakeholders, procurement, and commercial teams.
- External ecosystem: general contractors, mechanical and electrical contractors, consultants, cost consultants, and strategic partners.
- Internal partners: sales management, solution consultants, engineering, operations, commercial, legal, finance, marketing, and executive sponsors.
