Hybrid Working

THE TEAM

The Commercial department has a varied mix of work across both the public sector and private clients, predominately in sectors including health, local government, emergency services, and social housing. We advise on projects from “cradle to “grave”. We design and structure projects. We advise on operational issues. We advise on termination and expiry issues. We also advise on the full range of disputes that can arise out of procurements including procurement disputes, design and construction disputes, operational disputes particularly in relation to payment disputes and fire safety disputes, and termination disputes.

THE ROLE

The Corporate and Commercial Litigation Division is looking for a Senior/Principal Associate with 3 or more years' PQE who will be involved in and/or lead commercial disputes, with a particular focus on public procurement and complex contractual disputes. The successful candidate will be expected to have experience of dealing with both of these types of disputes.

The role involves mainly advising public sector clients in sectors including healthcare, local government, emergency services, and social housing. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the public sector and experience of working on matters involving public sector organisations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
