Requirements:
- Lead and continuously refine detection logic to enhance accuracy, minimise false positives, and improve alert quality through ongoing tuning and feedback
- Collaborate with Security Tools Engineering teams to ensure the availability of appropriate telemetry and data sources for robust threat detection
- Keep abreast of evolving threats and adversary tactics, converting threat intelligence into practical and effective detection rules
- Maintain detailed documentation for detection content, including purpose, expected outcomes, and tuning changes over time
- Conduct gap analysis on threat coverage and align detections with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
- Support threat hunting activities by building tailored queries, dashboards, and analytical tools
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Splunk administrators on data onboarding, parsing, indexing, and issue resolution
- Contribute to red, blue, and purple team engagements to test and strengthen detection capabilities
- Assist in defining and tracking detection-related KPIs and metrics to support SOC performance reporting
