SOC Analyst (Tier 1)
Salary: Up to £36,000 (DOE)
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days remote)
About the Company
An established London-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) with a growing Cyber Security practice is looking to recruit a Tier 1 Cyber Security SOC Support Analyst. The business delivers managed IT and cyber security services to a broad client base and has achieved multiple industry accreditation and recognition for its workplace culture and technical expertise.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and further develop your career within a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
The Role
As a Tier 1 SOC Support Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, triaging incidents, and providing the first line of response across multiple client environments. You'll investigate alerts, identify genuine threats, eliminate false positives, and escalate higher-severity incidents to senior analysts where appropriate.

Essential Experience:
- At least 1 year's experience in a Tier 1 SOC Analyst or Cyber Security Analyst role.
- Previous experience within an MSP or MSSP environment.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR.
- Good understanding of the Microsoft Defender suite, including Defender for Endpoint.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security from a threat detection and response perspective.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, triage and respond to security alerts across managed customer environments.
- Investigate security events and perform first-line incident response in line with established playbooks.
- Escalate complex or high-priority incidents to senior analysts where required.
- Communicate incident updates clearly to internal teams and customers.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors where necessary during active incidents.
- Support the wider cyber security team with ongoing investigations and operational activities.
- Manage support tickets through to resolution while maintaining excellent customer service and regular communication.
