SOC Shift Lead
📍 Leeds (hybrid) | 4 on / 4 off / 4 nights rotating | £38,000 + 20% shift allowance (c. £46,200 total)

We're now looking for a SOC Shift Lead to guide and elevate a team of analysts across their shift.
The role
Building on your solid grounding as a SOC Analyst, you'll supervise and support your team through the shift — owning quality, consistency and SLA performance while acting as the primary point of escalation. This is shift leadership rather than HR line management: it's about running the shift well, making sound calls under pressure, developing your analysts, and keeping standards high.

What you'll be doing
- Owning SLA and ticket management across the shift, allocating resource and balancing workloads
- Acting as the primary point of escalation — and exercising the judgment to know when to call on on-call seniors
- Running QA on tickets and giving clear, constructive feedback that raises the bar across the team
- Mentoring and coaching analysts through certifications, training and process refreshes
- Chairing shift briefings, standups and handovers
- Contributing to threat hunting, rule tuning, reporting and post-incident reviews
What you'll bring
- A solid hands-on grounding as a SOC Analyst — alert triage, incident analysis and escalation (typically a couple of years in a SOC environment)
- Sound judgment above all — the confidence to prioritise, make data-driven decisions under pressure, and escalate at the right moment
- The ability to lead, coach and develop the analysts around you
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR is preferred; SentinelOne and USM Anywhere are also in use — but any SIEM background is welcome, as the tooling can be picked up quickly
- A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills

The shift pattern
This is a 24/7 SOC operating 365 days a year. You'll work a rotating 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights pattern, with shifts running 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am. It's Leeds-based and hybrid, with on-site working when day shifts fall on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
Please note: you may be required to hold or obtain UK Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) and/or Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
