The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Social Account Director to join one of our Top 10 accounts, where collaboration, creativity, and strategic delivery create award-winning campaigns.

Key Aspects of the Role

  • Lead end-to-end management of social and influencer programs across one of Ogilvy’s largest accounts (UK & European teams, spanning 7+ years).
  • Work autonomously, ensuring high-quality delivery across strategy, creative, media, channel, and product marketing.
  • Act as a role model for Ogilvy’s values, fostering trusted client relationships while ensuring seamless communication across teams.
  • Accountability for problem-solving, timeline management, and performance reporting, with a focus on proactive leadership.
  • Mentorship: Guide and develop junior team members through constructive feedback and knowledge-sharing.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Management

  • Oversee all phases of social and influencer campaigns:
    • Talent identification and vetting
    • Contract negotiations and budgeting
    • Cross-channel implementation
    • Quality assurance and performance reporting (KPI-driven)
  • Serve as the primary escalation point, resolving issues independently and coordinating with stakeholders.

Strategic Contribution

  • Collaborate on social and influencer strategy, refining objectives, targets, and creative solutions.
  • Present insights, reports, and campaigns clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Integrate behavioural science and brand strategy into influencer campaigns.

Client Management

  • Be the key client contact, aligning expectations, delivering timely updates, and offering proactive solutions.
  • Strengthen long-term client relationships by meeting budgets, deadlines, and quality standards.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Bridge cross-functional teams (PR, media, data & insights) with transparency and coordination.
  • Prioritise tasks, share progress updates, and preempt delivery roadblocks.
  • Represent your projects confidently to senior leadership.

Resource Management

  • Balance budgets and timelines to ensure profitable, on-schedule project closure.
  • Manage workload capacity with your line manager.

Team Growth & Mentorship

  • Foster junior team members by:
    • Providing tailored feedback
    • Sharing expertise
    • Serving as an informal and inspiring mentor

Essential Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in social and influencer marketing (preferably in a fast-paced agency environment).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple campaigns autonomously, coordinating talent, budgets, and timelines.
  • Demonstrated success in building and sustaining client relationships, with a track record of proactively managing expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the initiative to thrive without micromanagement.
  • Desire to guide junior colleagues and support their professional development.
  • Enhanced communication skills for presentations, stakeholder updates, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Enthusiasm for trends in social and influencer marketing, with a commitment to continuous learning.
