This role will support our Family Information Service (FIS) - the Vale’s first point of contact for information on childcare, activities, and services for children, young people, and families. Delivered through the Vale Family Compass, the service helps ensure people can quickly access the support and information they need.

We are a friendly, supportive team that values learning, development, and collaboration. Alongside supporting the Family Information Service, you’ll also contribute to improving social care information across the wider Social Services Directorate.

As an apprenticeship opportunity, this role offers the chance to gain valuable workplace experience while completing a recognised qualification and developing skills for a future career in administration, digital services, information management, or customer support.

We embrace the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s core values of being ambitious, open, together, and proud. We are ambitious in our approach, always looking forward and embracing new ways of working to invest in our future. We are open to new ideas and accountable for the decisions we take. As a Social Care Information Apprentice, you’ll develop valuable administration, communication, and digital skills while helping families and professionals’ access important information and support services.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
